A Fine and Rare Pair of Mid-Eighteenth Century Brass Candlesticks made by George Grove
With brazed, or seamed, lines running from the socket to the base. The base itself is cast and has small cut-away indents to the corners. The maker’s name, George Grove (active 1748-1768), is impressed to the underside of the base.
These sticks have a rare ejection mechanism, which is operated by a shaped nut underneath the base.
